Save Shohei-kun with A NewHeart

Shohei is a 1 year and 3 months boy, who has been fighting with a serious heart disease
called “Dilated Cardiomyopathy”
There is only way we could save Shohei is to have him a heart transplant as quickly as
possible. Please help us raise funds to cover the cost of his heart transplant in the US and
also, to support the cost for his family to stay there and take care of Shohei.

○Message from Shohei’s Parents
His disease was found out when he was still in his mother’s womb. We will never forget the
day when we were told that our baby has a heart disease. After that day, we were suffered

from the fear that he might not live long, or he might die soon after he was born. We do not want lose our baby. We have been his life every day since that day. Great thanks to the doctors’ hard medical treatments in Osaka, he could have estublished a pediatric ventricular assist device (Berlin Heart EXCOR). However, to have installed this device, there is always a risk of a cerebral infarction caused by an infectious disease or a blood clot. Although Shohei has overcome several surgical operations and difficulties, we never want to give up on him who is trying to live the best he can. He has been hospitalized since he was born, so we just want to go home with him. He does not have much time left. Please help us for Shoei to be able to go home and play like other children of the same age. We need your warm support and corporation.

Shohei was diagnosed with “Dilated Cardiomyopathy” shortly after his birth. Fortunately, Texas Children’s Hospital USA has agreed to accept Shohei for a heart transplant surgery. However there are neither medical insurance nor medical care subsidies available in the US. This means they need to pay the whole amount of the expense of everything. The total cost of the medical care and the expense during their stay in the US are not the amount money that they can afford. We just want to help Shohei and his family, so we decided to form a group named “Shohei kun wo sukuu kai” to start a campaign for raising funds.
We want Shohei to go home with his parents.
We want Shohei to get well and play like other children of the same age.
We just want save Shohei. That’s all.

What is “Dilated Cardiomyopathy”
Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a condition in which the heart becomes enlarged and cannot pump blood effectively. Heart transplant is only considered in children who have such serious heart disease that there are no other medications or support devices available to sustain the child. A heart transplant offers the child with DCM the chance to return to a normal lifestyle.
